Somewhere out there ...

The same moon, a different place with a little different horizon. The weather here is beautiful; it kind of reminds me of Pleasantville -- 72 degrees in the morning, 72 degrees at night -- well, close enough :).

Harvest Season is Upon Us ...

The great part about the end of summer has always beens the fact that harvest season is just around the bend. It is truly an experience to help farm during this time of the year -- there's so much anticipation as to how the crops are yielding, if the weather will cooperate, or even what part of the machinery is going to break down. It's exhilarating, and at the end of the day, one is exhausted ... but it feels goods, and you can actually see what progress has been made.

The above images were taken on Saturday while my dad harvested the soybeans; the dust created by the beans just hovered above the fields until it finally settled, created a magnificent sunset. The other two show my dad combining.

Sniffels ...

My allergies have finally hit and I feel as thought I'm wandering around in a daze. Anyway, with all of the sniffling going on, it made me think of these images I took not too long ago for a bloodhound rescue in the area. I will post more images of them later, but they were an absolute treat to photograph!

Local Talent Rocks ...

I was photographing a party this weekend and had the privilege of listening to some local entertainment known as "The Funnies." These guys can seriously rock ...

Sharing isn't always the easiest thing to do ...

They say a picture says a thousand words ... well, Jake still doesn't like to share, and Farley is attempting to force the issue.

Amboy Depot Days Car Show. I was only there for an hour, but I never thought there would be that many people!

Today is my birthday

First, thank you to all of you who wished me a happy birthday. You are wonderful friends and family. Remember, though, birthdays aren't just celebrated on one day -- it's my birthday week!

The next excerpt is taken from the NY Post Columnist Sally Brompton. It is my horoscope for the year:

----------

August 25, 2007 -- You won't lack for self-belief over the coming 12 months, nor will you keep your talent under wraps. Even if you are the sort of Virgo who usually prefers to hang back in the shadows the lure of the spotlight will be too strong and before you know it you will be center stage. It's where you belong.

----------

Alrightty then, bring on the spotlight!

Today was absolutely beautiful. It was around 75 degrees all day long which made mowing a breeze. I made it to Amboy's Depot Days, but was late for the parade. So, Rochelle and I went to the Longbranch and shared a drink with some good friends. From there, we picked up the dogs and went to the Franklin Creek State Park. It is a wonderful area that I had no idea existed -- quite beautiful and not too far away. From there, we grabbed a Dairy Queen and parked next to the river in Dixon to watch the flood waters crash on by. It was a good day ... now for the rest of the birthday week! :) FYI, the above portrait of Farley was taken at the Franklin Creek State Park; he's definitely getting bigger.
